Just A Boy from Derby by Bob Williams

Just A Boy from Derby by Bob Williams

I was not sure there was a story to tell about my life, at least nothing worthy of being recorded in a book. I had always been a bit of a sentimentalist, interested in what goes on around me and, more recently, becoming something of a fan of that fascinating TV series Who Do You Think You Are?, which charts family histories.

But what made me, a very slow typist, want to spend endless hours at a keyboard recalling my life thus far? There is not one single answer. For my sixtieth birthday, Carol had paid for a professional genealogist to provide a cursory look through the Williams family history. I was now seventy and, like many others, I suspect the realisation had dawned on me that I had taken up my three score years and ten.

As I started this story, I had no idea what it would say but I was hoping that there was a story to tell. You are about to find out.
